We're bopster — fidget spinners, sensory toys and pixel jigsaws for kids with busy hands

We make two kinds of object. One lives in a pocket and spins. The other covers a table and takes a week. Both of them exist for the same reason: hands that need something to do while the rest of you settles down.

Metal spinners, pixel maps, illustrated jigsaws and one very fast scooter.

Eight colors, one brand

Our logo runs through the whole spectrum, and so does the range. Pick the color first if that is how your brain works — plenty of people do.

What is out on the table this week

A spinner, a map, a micro portrait and a scooter — the four corners of what we do.

The best-rated piece at every budget

Great Anxiety Relief

on the Metal Spin Ball Fidget Spinner

bopster makes a solid spinner. I have two cubes and decided to try the ball and I really like it. It’s a great help when I feel anxious. I’m pretty sure I’ll buy more of them. I like having these things in multiple locations to help ease my anxiety.

Fun weighty fidgit

on the Anodised Fidget Cube Spinner

Picked one up at Toys R Us today, and I’m really impressed with it so far. The cube has a satisfying weight to it, feels solid in the hand, and spins smoothly. It’s compact, fun to fidget with, and surprisingly well-made for its size. Definitely a great little desk toy if you enjoy tactile gadgets

Super fun!! Great difficulty if you’re bored of other puzzles!

on the Illustrated Round World Map Puzzle — 1000 Pieces

This was a super fun puzzle I decided to take on after completing 3 other 1000 piece puzzles. This was the only one I still haven’t finished after months of working on it! Great material, perfect difficulty level, great image quality and super cute/educational at the same time. Loved looking at the cartoons on it:)

Fun and challenging

on the Illustrated London Puzzle — 1000 Pieces

Loved this puzzle. It wasn't easy, but it kept you going trying to complete all the interesting places in London. I have only one complaint.....I wish there had been some labeling of the sights, either on the puzzle or at least on the "map". Some items are obvious but the buildings need identification! Wish there were other countries or big cities in this series.

Excellent quality

on the 8-Bit New York Puzzle — 1000 Pieces

This puzzle is of excellent quality and a lot of fun to put together. Requires patience and attention to detail, though.

Perfect for tall 8-9 year old kids!

on the Two-Wheeled Folding Scooter — Purple Zebra

Finally a cute scooter that’s perfect for my very tall 8 year old! I had to return another scooter that I ordered because it was too short for her. At first I was hesitant because this only had 1 review but I took a chance and my daughter loves it! Very happy with this purchase.

Fidget toys, sensory toys and jigsaws from one small workshop

bopster makes two families of fidget toys and three families of jigsaws. The fidget side is metal: a spin ball with a sealed nine ball bearing, a cube spinner machined from anodized aluminum, a neon cube in heavier kirksite, and a tri spinner that holds four minutes from one flick. Each one is a tactile object first. You can tell them apart in a pocket with your eyes shut, which is exactly the point of a good fidget toy.

People buy sensory toys for all sorts of reasons and we do not pretend to know yours. Some adults keep a cube on a desk to steady attention through a long call. Parents tell us a spinner helps a child with ADHD stay in a classroom chair through the last twenty minutes of a lesson. Occupational therapists use a set of small sensory tools for autism support, where a quiet object that can be turned, rolled or pressed gives hands somewhere to go. A spinner will not fix anxiety. It will give stress a smaller target, and that is often enough to get through the afternoon.

Three things decide whether a fidget toy earns its place on a desk: how it feels in the hand, how quiet it stays, and whether it lets you focus on the thing in front of you. A spin ball you can squeeze in a fist and roll with one thumb asks nothing of your eyes. A cube in flat black comes out of a pocket and goes back without anybody looking up. That is the whole trick of a tactile object: hands calm, attention free to focus somewhere else.

The jigsaw side of the table is slower. Our 8-bit maps are drawn in square pixels with fifty famous faces hidden in the grid; the illustrated maps are drawn by hand; the Hatsune Miku micro puzzles fit 150 pieces into a portrait the size of a paperback. All of them are cut from three layers of 100 percent recycled board, which is why the pieces click instead of sliding apart when you lift a finished corner.

A set of two or three is how most tables end up. One spinner lives in a school bag, one stays on the desk at home, and a jigsaw set waits for the weekend. Buying a set also spreads the risk, because a thing that helps one child focus will be ignored by the next, and a small set of cheap objects answers that question faster than one expensive guess. Where stress is the reason for the purchase, a quiet cube in black and a 180 piece map between them cover both ends of an afternoon: something to squeeze now, something to finish later, and a tactile set that comes to hand without a thought. Both of them leave a room calm, which is usually the real point.

What the two sides share is a shape of evening. Nobody needs a fidget toy. Nobody needs a 1000 piece map of the world either. What both of them do is make the next hour feel like it belongs to you: hands busy, shoulders down, one small thing that gets finished. That is the whole brief we work to, whether the object fits in a pocket or takes over the table by the window.

Over the teapot

Why did fidget spinners get banned in some schools?

The 2017 wave of plastic spinners was loud, bright and designed to be flicked across a desk, so a lot of schools banned them outright. Most of those rules were written against that specific toy. A metal cube spinner turned under a desk makes less noise than a pen, which is why the quiet ones tend to survive the policy. Check with the teacher before term starts rather than after.

Are fidget spinners for ADHD or autism?

They are for anyone whose hands get restless, and that includes a lot of people with no diagnosis at all. Where a spinner helps with ADHD or autism it does so by giving a repetitive, predictable motion that the body can run in the background. It is one tool among many, it works for some people and not others, and nobody should buy one expecting it to replace proper support.

What is the longest spin one of yours will hold?

The Metal Tri Fidget Spinner is our longest runner at a little over four minutes from a firm flick on a level surface. The spin ball and the cube are built for continuous rolling rather than record spin times, so they settle in under a minute by design.

How big is a 1000 piece puzzle when it is finished?

The rectangular 1000 piece maps finish at 70 by 50 centimeters, which is 27.5 by 19.7 inches. The round world map finishes as a circle 26.5 inches across. Measure your table before the London map arrives — more than one person has learned this the hard way.

Is the board recycled all the way through?

Yes. Every jigsaw in the range is cut from 100 percent recycled board in three bonded layers, printed with a matte face. The fold out image sheet inside the box is the same stock.

Who handles my order if something arrives damaged?

The store you ordered from. They hold the order number, the payment and the replacement stock, so a message through the order page of the partner store will always move faster than one to us. Write to us about the product itself and we will answer properly.

Still deciding?

Take the cheapest thing on the shelf. A 180 piece pixel map or a cube spinner costs less than a round of coffees and tells you within a week whether the rest of the range is for you.
