- Glow in the dark shell — charge under any light, no battery involved
- Five neon colors: blue, green, pink, orange and yellow
- Same continuous rolling mechanism as our metal spin ball
- Pocket sized and sealed, so it survives a school bag
The luminous version swaps the brushed metal face for a bright pigmented shell that stores light. Ten minutes under a room lamp buys a soft glow that lasts through a bedtime story, which is the reason most of these end up on a child's nightstand rather than an office desk.
Underneath the color the mechanism is the same precision track as the metal spin ball: one weighted ball, one continuous rolling motion, no noise. Neon blue and neon green charge brightest; pink and orange glow a little warmer and a little shorter. Yellow sits in the middle and is the one that gets lost least often.
From our table: Leave it on a windowsill through the afternoon and it will see you through a power cut.
